Who this is for
Teachers and program staff who sign in. We do not collect information about children.
What we keep about you
- Account: your name, email address, the months you can open, and your role. This is held by our sign-in provider, Clerk.
- Your progress: which activities you bookmarked or marked complete.
- Your organization, if you belong to one.
- Sign-in devices: a rough label for each device you sign in from (for example “Chrome on Windows”) and the times it was used, so we can enforce the one-device rule. We do not store your IP address ourselves.
- Your agreement to these terms, and when you gave it.
- Messages you send through Get Help: your message, your name and email, your organization and plan, and the page you sent it from. These are stored in PostHog and forwarded to our Slack.
- Printouts and the screen carry your name and email (in the printout footer, and as a faint watermark on screen) to discourage sharing.
- Usage statistics: we record which pages and features are used (for example “opened a month” or “printed an activity”), linked to your name and email, using PostHog. We also record clicks and make recordings of your visits (session replays) so we can see where people get stuck. The words you type into “Search this month” and what you see on screen (including your name) are visible in replays; Get Help messages and anything else you type are hidden. Our analytics provider may see your IP address as part of normal web requests.
Why
To run your account, show your progress, protect our content, answer your messages, and understand which features teachers use.
Who else handles it
Clerk (sign-in), Neon (database), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (usage statistics and Get Help messages) and Slack (our internal notifications). They process data for us under their own terms, and the data is stored in the United States.
How long
While your account exists. If your account is deleted, we delete your progress and account data. Backups and logs may take longer to clear.
